Mel,
Just a quick note to let you and Ed know what a great time we had at the Howler Monkey Resort. Dallas, Pam & I all agreed that our time in the jungle was very special. We appreciated the efforts of you and your family. The adventures were all really fun. We are having a hard time deciding our favorite. I thought the Lamanai trip was the best yet all our time was wonderful. And the meals were delicious. Best catfish we have ever had!
We also got to miss the coolest week in Green Valley with overnight temperatures near or at freezing. It is nice now with temperature near 65 degrees today.
If you should ever venture to this part of the USA we would love to host you.
Best wishes for 2022 and beyond...

Pam, Mark and Dallas stayed at this resort let me begin by saying that first, we went to San Pedro Island in the Belize. That was a great trip we did some snorkeling we did some catamaran and relaxed very nice experience then we went inland to the howler monkey resort I thought San Pedro Island was nice but this experience was equally nice if not better Mel, Ed and their two sons are wonderful people and they gave us great hospitality they’re down to earth you are in the middle of the jungle it’s you feel like it’s very remote but it’s not to remote on the side trips that we took were an experience of a lifetime and we absolutely loved every bit of our stay here and hopefully will return really really enjoyed it if you’re looking for an Just wanna say thank you for the wonderful experience and it’s always nice to meet really good people

Thank you so much. We truly enjoyed our time!
... by John Wall (www.johnwall.com) our guest and now familyOur cottages had a back porch with a swing that looked out over the river. We often just sat in the late afternoon or early evening watching the birds and listening to the howler monkeys which the locals call baboons. Almost any time of the day or night we heard the howlers but they were never close enough to keep us awake at night. The sounds at the lodge made you constantly aware that you ARE in the jungle. It was great!
Our stay at the Howler Monkey resort was the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure and new experiences! The Turtons are the most welcoming of people and made us feel like family. We are telling everyone we know to book a stay with the Howler Monkeys! It will be an experience you won't forget!

The Lonely Planet's Review:....
Ed and Melissa Turton's beautiful, rustic jungle lodge consists of eight cabins of varying size and proximity to the river, set on 20 jungle-filled acres above a bend in the Belize River. This is the place to come to hear the howler monkeys roar at night and watch birds, agouti, iguana and even the occasional crocodile roam during the day. Ed and Mel are excellent wildlife guides (and chefs), and their resort has trails to explore, a canoe tour (BZ$xx per canoe) and even a river-fed swimming pool. Direct bookings include breakfast and dinner for two in the dining room. Another surprisingly excellent feature of the Howler Monkey Resort is its bat house; that is, an old cabin that's been converted to a bat sanctuary. The benefit of this to visitors isn't obvious at first, but becomes so once you realize that the bats pay their rent by keeping the area nearly mosquito free.
"Thank you for hosting Jack, Natalie and I last week (January 2017). We had a wonderful experience. I am so glad we booked the tours with you. I didn't realize that we would have a private cave tubing tour. That was great! And I did do at least a little zip lining! Now I can say I did it. We were so relaxed by the end of our stay".----

We had a great time thank you !!!! "
Rich LindseyWe had such a WONERFUL time staying with you and your family, thank you again for such a special visit!
We had a nice time out at San Pedro, but it was so busy and noisy compared to the jungle.
We did go diving and snorkeling and we saw a blacktip reef shark, lots of nurse sharks and sting rays, a spotted eagle ray, a hawksbill sea turtle, and even a moray eel.
I don't think I've ever seen as much wildlife in one trip as we saw in Belize!
Thanks again, and hope you are all well.

Our stay at Howler Monkey Resort was by far the best part of our two-week stay in Belize. I know Kelley got to do things she had been really looking forward to, and I got some great photographs. We had just a great time there, with something new every day. And you and the boys were the best hosts. The cooking, again, was just awesome.

Thank you for your looking after us while we were at the Howler Monkey Resort.
We were there for such a short time that I hardly took any pictures but I'll send you a couple that I have on another computer in a separate mail.
Your food was delicious...we were remembering the banana dessert just yesterday (pity that Lorena, the other mother, doesn't eat bananas!).
Best wishes from,

We truly enjoyed our stay with you. Thank you for your kindness and helpfulness. We were so excited to see all the amazing wildlife in your area. Of course the Howler monkeys were our favorites. We also appreciate your detailed directions to the zoo and the airport. We made all the correct turns and had a wonderful visit at the zoo.
Take care and we will definitely swing by if we return to Belize. Thank you for making our stay extra special.

We just got back from our fantastic holiday in Belize, and I wanted to share some of the pictures we took while in the CBS.
There are a couple from our tour with Robert at the Sanctuary. Thanks for the amazing experiences, the Howler Monkey Resort was one of my favorite places in all of Belize.
Happy New Year to you and yours,

Hi! We really had a great time staying with you. Your hospitality was amazing!! We got our pictures put on a CD and the snake picture really doesn't look like much at all! Very disappointing, we were hoping it would be good for your web site. I guess you'll have to go snake hunting with your camera Mel!! Thanks again for everything.

Thank you. I enjoyed it, it is a different kind of world. I learnt a lot first hand. Especially at the ATM cave. I still can't believe I actually did that walk. Especially when I see myself in the cave. I was sharing it with some of the teachers and they think I'm telling a story. I'm sending my favorite photo hope you like it"

We want to say thanks for your hospitality, your friendliness, and your wonderful cooking!!! Your resort was our first stop in Belize, and it certainly made a good impression for your country. After a hectic flight, the peace and quiet of your area was restorative. We loved it, and would highly recommend it to others as a first stop.
